First Aid Intro

First Aid is the first form of assistance given to an individual and it is not a permanent solution, it is temporary. First Aid when administered quickly and skillfully, can mean the difference between short/ long term recovery or even life/ death

The aim of first aid can be broken into 3 P's

  • Preserve life
  • Prevent worsening
  • Promote recovery

When responding to an emergency situation, you go through your 3 C's

  • Check the victim and scene to make sure its safe
  • Call for help and send for emergency medical services
  • Care for injuries you may find 


Responsibilities of a First Aider

  • Must respond quickly in a life threatening situation
  • Must be prepared and remain calm in order to assess injuries correctly and perform necessary first aid       measures
  • There are no legal obligations to perform/ administer first aid, however, there may be moral obligations to continue to provide first aid care until medical help is available

    I really like the concept of this. Its very educational and essential to ones knowledge furthermore, i hope to gain a bit more understanding and knowledge as to how to carry out the basic responsibilities of a First Aider. Nice Job Dear !!!
